tie-dye is still alive |style|

I think the primary reason I have such an affinity for tie-dye is the fact that I began experimenting with my personal style in the heart of the 90s. I can remember it like it was yesterday—I was an 11 year-old rebel without a cause and a total sponge for any and every grungy trend I could get my hands on. The DeLiAs catalog couldn’t hit my mailbox fast enough and Doc Martens were on the top of my sartorial bucket list. I can also thank my lucky stars that around that time in my life, my parents were going through a gnarly divorce, so I was able to convince my dad that 11 was totally old enough for an eyebrow ring and an undercut. I know what you may be thinking, and all I have to say is: Shut up, they were cool back then… right? Moving on. I now get a powerful wave of nostalgia whenever I see tie-dye, chunky glitter, ringer tees, chain wallets, or mini backpacks.

Fast forward 20 years & here I am, still wearing tie-dye. The only difference is that I no longer buy my ultra wavy designs at head shops. In fact these blue paperbag waist trousers are some of the most luxurious pants I’ve ever owned.
