Q: Is it worth it?
It’s absolutely without a doubt worth the $15.
Q: How can you notice a difference?
First, my speed. My mile time has significantlyyy decreased. Which means I have to push myself so much harder to maintain my normal speed.
Second, my legs get more sore after a walk. So the added resistance is helping build muscle (even if just a little)
Q: What weight should I get?
It’s suggested to start between 5 to 10% of your body weight and then increase overtime if needed. Also consider if you’re a more advanced walker, you may be able to start at a higher weight.
Q: How much does your vest weight?
I went with 10 pounds to start out. I’m a more “advanced” walker/runner. However, I’m only 4’11. I didn’t want to injure myself right out of the gate lol. I might go up to 15 in a few months but right now I’m really happy with 10.
Q: Are there any other benefits?
Personally, I notice that I’m engaging my core & much more aware of my posture. If I’m trying to answer an email & I slouch or slump my shoulders over, it gets a little uncomfortable. So always pulling my belly button to my spine and rolling shoulders back.
