wrapped up in wrap pants |style|

Often times, when it comes to the basic structure of clothing, I think we can all agree that we believe we’ve kind of “seen it all.” I’m obviously a huge fan of style & fashion, and mean no disrespect to designers, but you know what I mean, right? I think it stems from the common mentality that “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” because putting your pants on one leg at a time works perfectly fine. Well, that’s what I thought too, until I got a hold of my first pair of wrap pants.

I’ll be the first to admit that after I took them out of the package and held them up to take a gander, I thought to myself “What the hell did I just order?” Scanning back through emails and then referencing the brand’s website, I was able to verify that I was in fact holding a pair of pants. A pair of pants that looked more like a skirt, or a sarong, or really, anything other than pants. I was officially confused. Being the self-sufficient, problem-solving girl genius that I am, I immediately Googled “How to tie wrap pants” and once I had solved the sartorial puzzle & the pants were on, I was in love.

My favorite thing about wrap pants is that they’re customizable. Being a petite human, I’ve accepted that when it comes to pants, I’m most likely going to have to tailor them. Typically, I have to take in the waist or shorten the legs (and sometimes do both). However, with wrap pants, I can simply tie them higher to make up for my stubby legs and lack of curves. If you’re a bit on the curvier or taller side, then you can easily adjust them accordingly to fit to your size and preference. The only possible con that I can fathom—which isn’t one for me—is that the pants are pretty open on the sides. A strong breeze could show some serious thigh so if that’s a little too “extra” for you, then these would be perfect over a bikini. You’ve been warned 😉

As always, sending lots of tropical vibes your way!
