Summer of Diane x AEO |style|

Being a self-proclaimed denim short aficionado, I have to admit that the American Eagle Vintage Hi-Rise Festival Shorties are some of my favorites. I absolutely love that they have zero stretch to the fabric, which makes them feel like genuine vintage shorts. I know we’ve all been conditioned to equate stretch with comfort, but rest assured they are so soft & broken-in, that there is nothing uncomfortable about them. Additionally, I would consider myself fairly petite, standing in at 4’11”, and I love how flattering the Hi-Rise style is on my smaller frame. These shorts have even managed to give me the illusion of having curves, & that my friends, is nothing shy of a miracle.

With festival & outdoor concert season right around the corner, I wanted to put a fun look together to kick start your summer inspiration. I paired the shorts with this feminine lace top because I felt like it was a nice juxtaposition against the ultra-distressed denim. I topped the look off with some whimsical accessories & a pair of chunky platforms. These shoes may look painful, but I promise you they are super comfy. They are almost what I would consider a “flatform,” which means your feet won’t kill you after a long day of dancing in the lawn seat section. In general, my personal style definitely leans more to the adventurous side than most, but I feel like festival season is the perfect time to experiment with your own look. So have fun, throw some glitter on your face, & pick up a pair of these amazing shorts—You won’t regret it!
