Style

winter white linen |style|

Above all else, there is one “fashion rule” that I absolutely despise and that’s “No white after Labor Day.” I honestly couldn’t think of a more asinine rule if I had to and here’s why. White is hands down my favorite neutral to wear so I am a die hard supporter of “winter white.” Some people feel the same way about wearing black, but in my former life as a stylist and doing hair for roughly a billion years, I tend to associate black with a uniform. I do still love black in small doses, but I digress. There is just something about the bright, fresh crispness of white clothing that reminds me of summer. Accordingly, in my view, the epitome of a summer getaway ensemble is head to toe white linen.

These two pieces didn’t come together as a pair but given that the fabrics are nearly identical, they are a great match. When I’m putting together a set like this, I tend to either pair extremely similar fabrics together or those that are clearly distinct. I adore tone-on-tone in different textures as I believe it gives the look a lot of interest. I scored these trousers from Zara when all of their summer pieces went on sale. If you’re not picking up staple pieces off season, you’re really missing out. My backless wrap top is from the one and only LJC Designs, my favorite Bali based company, that always seems to capture the essence of bohemian luxury.

If you don’t happen to live in the tropics, no worries! You can also try this look out with a pair of white pants & a chunky white sweater. If that’s a little too much to handle, you can revisit the idea this upcoming summer 😉 As always, sending lots of tropical vibes your way.
