Earlier this month, my husband and I went for a walk around our *hopefully* new neighborhood. We’re in the process of looking for a new house and have officially set our sights on South Beach. We spend 99% of our free time at the beach, so after three years of living in Miami it felt right to plant our roots a little closer to the sand. Anywho, this was the outfit I happened to be wearing while we viewed a few potential properties! As we were about to head home, we walked by this purple, quintessential South Beach building and I thought it would be the perfect backdrop for my yellow #ootd [outfit of the day, just in case 😉 ].

I don’t typically wear body-con dresses during the day—mainly because the relentless Miami heat prevents me from wearing anything other than a bikini or linen—but I was determined to wear this little yellow number. In an effort to make it a bit more relaxed,  I styled it with my favorite pair of sneakers & a cute woven bag and then threw a denim jacket around my waist. You could also make it “day-appropriate” with a pair of flat slides and a button down or band tee layered over it. I really loved wearing this little dress given its “street style” vibe, so now I want a dozen more so I can recreate this look!

If you have a dress in your closet that’s a little more “evening” appropriate, possibly too tight, or just slightly dressier—try styling it with sneakers & a jacket! As always, sending lots of tropical vibes your way!
