I think it’s safe to say that when it comes to jewelry, I’m without a doubt a “more is more” kind of girl. With that being said, however, I was recently introduced to the jewelry brand Julia Szendrei and instantly fell in love with her seriously cool, yet minimal designs. Her hammered metals, textured finishes, & rough diamonds give her collection of work a beautifully organic feeling. Lightweight, simple, & stunning, Julia’s designs are the kind that you put on and may be tempted to never take off.
Julia is currently based out of her Lake Tahoe studio, but we found common ground over Cape Cod. She grew up on Nantucket and I happen to have family, including my mom, who live on the Cape. I’m always in favor of spreading the word about female-run businesses, but a babe from the Cape who makes killer jewelry? Say no more.

One of Julia’s most popular designs is her ‘Morse Code Necklace,’ which comes in a variety of colors/stones & words (e.g., FAMILY, MOTHER, LUCK). The one I have pictured is “LOVE” in rough black diamonds. A few more of my personal favorites are her ‘Thick Hammered Hoops’ (which come in yellow, rose gold, & sterling silver) and her ‘Diamond Slice Necklace’ in either black or white.
