I’m not sure if it’s the upcoming fall season or just my inner flower child coming out but I am really feeling 70s inspired fashion. Everything from flared jeans, wide leg pants, head scarves, fringe, suede, double denim, embroidered everything, circular sunnies, you name it. To me, all of these items invoke a relaxed coolness with a dose of drama. Some of these are also a few of my own personal style staples so it’s not a hard fad for me to follow. I’m not necessarily a die hard trend follower but when something fits my style, I’m not afraid to ride the wave either. I always try to remember to edit within the trend because I recognize that it’s easy to get sucked in & lose your personal touch. That’s why I say to select only the pieces that really speak to you!

One way I keep my personal style intact within a trend is through my jewelry. It’s those final touches that can balance out a look or push you the other way & make you feel like you’re in a costume. One of my favorite jewelry brands right now is SHASHI. I discovered them during Miami Swim Week & have been in love ever since. Unbeknownst to me I had actually already seen their work considering that their pieces are worn by celebrities, models, influencers & all around stylish babes but I hadn’t been properly introduced to the brand until recently. I also love that all of their pieces are handcrafted in New York. The big apple holds a very special place in my heart so I feel like when I wear Shashi, I have a little piece of NYC always with me. Shashi is planning to take over the jewelry scene & I’m totally on board! I am always welcoming new brands into my wardrobe that combine quality materials with funky designs.

I thought Shashi’s bohemian vibe complemented this ensemble perfectly. I wanted the jewelry to be able to stand out to highlight how detailed their pieces are. They’re thoughtfully designed using a variety of materials including gemstones, sterling silver, 18K plating, crystals, cotton and silk fabrics, and custom leathers to create a luxe, unique look. As you can see, the neutral palette of my outfit allowed the jewelry to stand out but the drama of the bell bottoms kept the look from falling flat.

Speaking of these bell bottoms, holy yes. The high waist rise combined with the button fly make these some of the most flattering jeans I have ever worn. In fact, they’re so good that I got a pair with the same style but in a skinny jean, ankle grazing length too. Seriously, they get a 10 out of 10—I highly recommend you check them out. Even for someone built like me (i.e., 4’11” & born with zero curves), these jeans make me feel like a certified bombshell hippie babe. This high neck top is made from a modal blend so it’s extra soft & feels very luxe. And last but not least, I finished the look off with this moto satchel. I find this to be the perfect size for a “big bag” for me in that it’s not so deep as to where your bag somehow morphs into a black hole. Have you ever been pushed to the edge of frustration trying to locate your keys or wallet that you’ve almost poured the entire contents of your bag onto the floor in Neiman Marcus? No? Just me? Great. Well, this bag won’t do that to you, even while navigating airports & traveling all over Cape Cod last week I never had that issue. Score!
