miami swim week roundup |rebellion|

So after going back and forth on how to best organize and present all the amazing brands and products I recently discovered at Miami Swim Week this past July, I’ve decided that dividing them into the categories of “swimwear”, “clothing”, “jewelry” & “sunglasses” would be the most concise way to talk about them. I’m not including every single collection I was impressed by or fell in love with only because this post would then become a painfully long mini-series. I thought it would be easiest to highlight only the newest discoveries I can’t get enough of. I also thought if I hadn’t known of them already then maybe I could introduce you to a few new designers too!

Resort wear & beach attire may not be for everyone but it is so incredibly spot on with my style and my current city. My whole life I have been a summer lover [hence my website’s name], but it’s more than just loving warm weather, tan skin, & seasonal watermelon. It’s the time of year when I truly feel myself. I love how the coast allows for so much flexibility & creativity when it comes to style. On any given day on any given street corner in Miami, you can have one woman wearing a neon kaftan & another wearing a white, lace, couture jumpsuit & they are both appropriately dressed. I’ve found that less judgement happens seaside so I feel like that translates to a more honest, diverse, and carefree style.

These are my own personal favorites for a multitude of reasons, but if you too appreciate bohemian, surfer, chic, beach babe clothing then chances are that there will definitely be something on these lists for you. So, in no particular order, here are the designers that you should consider incorporating into your summer arsenal.

Swimwear

| KAOHS | TRIYA |

KAOHS  — KAOHS was created by two best friends in southern California who were inspired by the skate, boho, & surf way of life that is so often associated with that area. I am so in love with their bikinis that are accented with cowrie shells!

TRIYA — Brazilian-based brand that seamlessly ties together amazing prints with high quality suits. Their prints have a bohemian vibe which is what initially drew me to them. Their next collection features a celestial pattern that I can’t wait to get my hands on.

| TREJOA | REVEL REY |

TREJOA — Rio de Janeiro-based brand who embodies what I think of when I hear Brazilian swimwear, styles that are flattering & sexy while still being functional. Their next resort collection features pom poms, off the shoulder tops, beading, & gorgeous embroidered palm trees. I am so in love with every piece; they knocked this collection out of the park.

REVEL REY — They unequivocally put on the best show of Swim Week. It was on the rooftop of the 1 Hotel overlooking the pristine Miami Beach. This brand combines fashion, art, & custom-painted prints that will stop you in your tracks. They have created an amazing collection of different styles, including several innovative one pieces.img_5473JADE SWIM — Last but not least for swimwear is Jade Swim. This one is for all my minimalist babes out there. Made in LA & designed in NYC with innovative silhouettes & unique design details in mind, I love their mix of edgy details & luxe fabric. I can’t wait to see what this brand has in store for us next.

Clothing

| LEM LEM | SEA LILY |

LEM LEM — Created by Ethiopian supermodel Liya Kebede to reignite the market for traditional Ethiopian weavers. Their gorgeous stripes & neon accents make my little heart skip a beat. As an added bonus, their super lightweight fabrics give them the Miami stamp of approval.

SEA LILY — Miami-based luxury beach brand that has tropical life down to a science. Sea Lily combines gorgeous natural fabrics with perfect seaside silhouettes, and their passion for ocean conservation is second to none. In fact, a portion of every sale is donated to our waters so you can both feel better and look better while sporting their clothing.

| STAR MELA | ANTIK BATIK |

STAR MELA — This London-based brand is a one-stop shop for the summer. In addition to their perfectly relaxed bohemian clothing, they also have stunning bags, shoes, & accessories. Island chic beading & embroidery on almost every design make Star Mela’s pieces absolutely drool worthy.

ANTIK BATIK — Italian-born brand whose beautiful garments make me want to travel the world. Inspired by European & Indonesian culture, every bag and dress invoke the gypsy spirit within us all. I’ve spotted her accessories at Free People but never thought too much about the name until I was introduced to the line as a whole & I can confidently say I will be a lifelong fan.img_5474PITUSA — Miami-based & Peruvian-made brand whose coverups, tops & dresses radiate happy vibes. If Pitusa had a catch phrase, I’d like to think it would be “If it ain’t neon, it shouldn’t be on.” Their dresses are  dotted in pom poms, finished with neon trimming, & made from some of the softest cotton material I’ve ever encountered. Pitusa may have simple silhouettes but they are anything but boring.

Jewelry

| ZACASHA | PINK KARMA |

ZACASHA — Miami-based brand with one of the coolest vibes around. After designer Jennifer Belcourt settled in Bali, she started working with local craftsmen to create her vision. Considered the original tassel necklaces, they are made with love & care not in factories but in the homes of Indonesian artisans. Adorned with gorgeous beads, neon tassels, & intricate charms, you can instantly see the love that goes into each and every one of their pieces.

PINK KARMA — They are an online boutique with a resort style vibe. Their name plate gold necklaces made me do a double take when I first spotted them at the Swim Show. With phrases like “Beach Bum” “Salty” & “Mermaid” I couldn’t decide which one I loved more. Her gorgeous designs also incorporate one of my favorite stones ever, Larimar! The glowing blue stones remind me instantly of the flawless South Beach water I adore so much. Pink Karma is definitely a website on which I could max out a credit card & have zero regrets.img_5477SHASHI — NYC-based jewelry line that has mastered the art of layering dainty pieces. With their delicate gold chains, crystal seed beads, tiny tassels, & mini evil eye accents, I couldn’t ask for a more perfect brand. You could stack twenty of their bracelets on your wrist & it still wouldn’t be too much. Shashi’s pieces may be small in size but they make up for it in bold colors & stunning designs.

Sunglasses

| SUNDAY SOMEWHERE | PARED |

SUNDAY SOMEWHERE — Without getting too deep, this Aussie brand stands for everything I practice in life. They are a brand for all my dreamers, doers, explorers & free spirits out there. With a wanderlust attitude shaping their styles, these sunglasses are classically shaped but bring the heat with their lens colors & funky details. Sunday Somewhere is another website that could potentially destroy my line of credit but again, I would unapologetically oblige.

PARED EYEWEAR — I love high end, funky, & fun eyewear & this brand has hit that nail right on the head. Australia is already the motherland to some of my favorite designers and Pared now ranks near the top of that growing list. With style names like “Camels & Caravans” “Pools & Palms” I find it very hard to resist the fun shapes & colors of their frames.img_5480FINLAY + CO. — Designed in West London & meticulously handcrafted in Italy, these sunnies are made from either sustainable hardwoods or Italian Mazzucchelli acetate. Although they may be best known for their wooden frames, I am a sucker for clear acetate & they have designed some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my Miami Swim Week round up & I could introduce you to a few new brands. As always, sending lots of beach vibes your way!

P.S. I have linked all brands under their names at the beginning of each description, so just click & shop!
